Zirconium 702 Rod

Zirconium and its alloys have good plasticity during cold working, and the cold working performance is similar to low carbon steel, but it is difficult to lubricate and easy to stick to the mold. Surface phosphating or oxidation treatment should be performed on the drawn billet. In order to obtain the desired surface quality, the pipes are generally produced by cold rolling without drawing.

3. Description of zirconium 702 rod

(1) Zirconium has a strong affinity with gas. It reacts with oxygen, hydrogen, and nitrogen at about 200, 300, and 400 °C, respectively. The reaction is rapid at higher temperatures, so casting and heat treatment must proceed in a vacuum furnace. Should take appropriate protective measures to shorten the high-temperature working time when thermal processing proceeds in the atmosphere.

(2) The friction coefficient between the zirconium 702 rod and the mold is high, and it is easy to adhere to the surface of the mold.

(3) The processing specification has a more sensitive influence on the performance of the zirconium 702 rod. Should pay special attention to controlling the cold working and heat treatment process before the finished product.
